Le
club de Colombes était venu en force
à Chambéry : 3 équipes, 4
autocars (dont un pour les parents et
accompagnateurs), un camion pour les décors
et le matériel … Même Philippe
Candeloro, dont la femme Olivia chorégraphie
le ballet Elite, avait fait le déplacement,
entre deux séjours aux Etats-Unis.
L'équipe Jeunes Espoirs de Colombes
est restée seule dans sa catégorie,
après le retrait des « Liberty Belles
», de Philadelphie, pour cause de guerre en
Iraq. L'équipe joue « Elvis Aloha
» avec une conviction rare pour des patineurs
de cet âge, dans un univers joyeux et
entraînant.
Colombes gagne également dans la
catégorie des Espoirs, avec un montage
très structuré de «
Shéhérazade ». Albertville est
second, grâce à une superbe
interprétation de leur « Au fil de
l'Eau », toute en carres et en finesse. Deuil
est troisième grâce à leurs
« chrono-maîtres », Barcelone vient
raconter Gaudi et l'équipe de Reims,
nouvelle venue dans le monde du ballet, patine avec
un enthousiasme et une détermination
prometteurs.
Toulouse emporte la Coupe (en l'occurrence
un patin de bois dans un décor de montagnes)
avec leur interprétation de la
tragédie AZF. St Egrève, qui a pris
le risque cette saison de monter en Elite, termine
2ème avec une émouvante histoire du
Mur de Berlin baptisée « Resistancia
». Chambéry est troisième avec
une « Milonga Desperada » qui ne demande
qu'à envoûter son public.
L'équipe d'Asnières, 4ème ici,
réussit une jolie chorégraphie sur la
rivalité, dont l'interprétation reste
à approfondir. L'équipe Elite de
Colombes a préféré patiner
hors concours plutôt que de retirer trois
patineurs, non-inscrits dans l'équipe
officielle. Son ballet, « qui de nous deux
sera le pantin », un trésor d'invention
et de beau patinage, a néanmoins obtenu un
beau succès auprès du public.
Et la saison ne fait que commencer
…

The
Liberty Belles of Philadelphia could not make it to
France this year because of the war in Iraq. The
team of Barcelona, Spain, nonetheless gave an
international flavor to the 10th Coupe des Ducs de
Savoie in Chambéry, in the French Alps. A
beautiful sunshine awaited the 200 participants.
The team of Colombes, Philippe Candeloro's former
home rink, was certainly the most represented, as
they came to the Alps with 3 teams and 4 buses (one
of them filled with parents and chaperons), plus a
truck for decors and other equipment. Philippe
Candeloro made the trip to Chambéry, too,
along with his wife Olivia, who choreographs the
elite team.
The Novice team of Colombes was the only
Novice team left, after the Liberty Belles
cancelled their trip. They skated well to their
« Elvis, Aloha Hawaii » team.
Colombes won in the Junior category thanks
to an intricate « Sheherazade » story.
The teams of Albertville came close, with a
beautiful rendering of their « Water Story
». Deuil la Barre followed.
Colombes might have won the Senior category as
well, had they elected to skate. Three skaters in
the team were however not registered properly, and
the team elected to display their breath-taking
ballet to « who of us will be the puppet ?
» as an exhibition only. Toulouse won
the Cup (in effect a splendid wooden skate in a
mountain scenery), with their « Never again
» performance. The team of St Egrève,
who had been the Junior champion for the last three
seasons, took the 2nd place in Elite, right ahead
of Chambéry and Asnières.
The Ballet season is only starting. The
performances displayed in Chambéry gave the
audience the promise of a bright season.
